Charity Supports Equal Bereavement Compensation

Justice for Asbestos Families Campaign which seeks equal compensation for families of mesothelioma victims has gained the support of the Mick Knighton Mesothelioma Research Fund.

The recently organized campaign is lobbying for equal bereavement payments to families throughout the United Kingdom. Families in England and Wales who lose a loved one from mesothelioma receive thousands of pounds less than families in Scotland.

The Mick Knighton Mesothelioma Research Fund was started by Mick’s late wife Chris and is located at the Sir GB Hunter Memorial Hospital in Wallsend. Chris said that she fully supports the campaign’s push for equality.

Recently the campaign has begun circulating a petition in addition to releasing a DVD that discusses the situation in detail.
